Simply put, Calgary isn't trading the leading defensive goal scorer in the NHL to their arch rival for a bunch of maybes and spare parts. Yeah Leon is good but in the next couple years watch out, Dougie will be in the Norris conversation.

I think it's closer to nuge + this year's first (top 3 protected) and a 2nd

Edmonton says no to this deal. If you add a guy like Sam Bennett, though, they might be more interested.

No sir. Nugent Hopkins is a solid 2nd line C, but not worth Hamilton. To put it into perspective, Hamilton's career high in points is 50 as a D, RNH is only at 56 as a forward.

Chances are Bouchard is off the board when EDM picks in the 8-10 range. Detroit probably takes him

Calgary has 0 incentive to move Hamilton to EDM, under no circumstance will they move him for anything less than Draisaitl. No sweetheart deal for the Oilers
