The best Karlsson trade scenario in my mind is similar to this. It'd be getting lucky and winning Dahlin then swapping out Brännström for N. Suzuki.

Don't see how this is similar to the McDonagh deal. McDonaugh was traded two season worth of playoffs, for a # 1, a former # 1 and a former second. JT Miller and Namestakinov cancel each other.
Here you want a last years former number 6 and 16 overall, much higher than the Tampa picks, a number 1 and what might be Vegas's best Dman this year Miller.

Karlsson is still significantly better than mcdonagh though, that’s why the prospects are better

IF Karlsson is traded, it will be for 9 seasons worth of playoffs....

It,s a very good proposal IMO and I could see Vegas doing that easily. Acquiring a generational talent in their 2nd season, that would be glorious. They have a lot of picks, prospects and young players already and sacrificing a few for a franchise player would be smart. WHICH IS WHY they were trying hard to acquire Karlsson at the last deadline.

Vegas has played one season and have made the playoffs. Karlsson has played 8 seasons and make the playoffs three times I believe. Your trade mentioned nothing of him resigning, of course neither did the McDonagh trade. So how is this trade a fair comparison at all?

Actually, even if I am a Sens fan, it would be great for Vegas : Best forward is a Karlsson and best D-man would be a Karlsson

No, he played 9 seasons in the NHL and his team made the playoffs 5 times.

Listen, I have said countless times (can't control if people don't read/listen) that NO TEAM is going to pay what it will take to land Karlsson if he doesn't sign an extension right away. Sens are not going to trade him as a rental IF he is traded at all.

By the way, it is not "my trade" but the OP did mention in team explanation "Condition is if Karlsson resigns in 2020."

Then, I suggested, it not a comparison to the McDonagh trade at all.

Yes, not sure why the McDonagh trade was brought up. Tampa has balls acquiring McDo with only 1 year left. Everything is possible but I don't see a team taking the same risk with Karlsson as the price will be much higher.
