You say “wishful thinking” but I honestly think if Tavares were to test FA San Jose would be an ideal landing spot. What’s not to like about San Jose? Beautiful city, very good core that’s still going to be very competitive for several seasons, not a lot of media pressure, lots of cap room etc...
I think SJ would be a great fit. That team would immediately be a favourite in the west

I agree, my wishful thinking is based on DW doing what it takes to get him. The primary being not resigning Thornton and then buying out Paul Martin. Sometimes Doug is a little to loyal.
