I'm obliged to acknowledge that the Ferland-for-Bjorkstrand trade isn't as much of an automatic "no, go away" type deal as I would have immediately assumed, but I still don't like it. Ferland's got less of a track record of regular production, whereas Bjorkstrand's minor league numbers suggests he still has some upside and room for improvement. So I'd really rather just keep Bjorkstrand and see if we can get more out of him.

I think the Blues would be good with that. Pretty good two-way forwards coming our way and Fabbri is still a big question mark at this point with his injury recovery. We could end up getting burned if Fabbri comes back 100% and on a mission, but Backlund is a sure thing at 2c vs Fabbri. Frolik is probably = Sobotka, but both guys might find more success in new systems.

Also FYI Fabbri hasn't played any center in the NHL (though he was slated to get a shot this year before the knee gave out). Sobotka is a good faceoff guy; might consider switching those two around.

    Thanks for the response guys/gals.

Bjork gives Calgary bit more skill and Ferland can add toughness to CBJ. Its close.

The Blues deal should help both teams as well.

    Any thoughts on Sens deal?

Yeah, that's kind of the thing, tho - the Jackets aren't exactly short on toughness.
