Nurse a second and drai for parayko Thompson and a 3rd? No thanks I think drai alone could get parayko and nurse is worth more then Thompson and us adding a second to this trade is a loss

Berglund doesn't have negative value.

Buffalo GMBots thanks you very much for contacting him with an offer for ROR services.

He appreciates the interest but respectfully declines the offer. Steen at 34yo is not what the Sabres organization is looking for at this particular time..... maybe in 2019/2020 probably more like 2020/2021.

Actually, the deal was Parayko, Thompson and a 3rd for Draisatl and a 2nd.
I signed Nurse as a RFA--but that was a mistake on my part. I agree with you that Nurse has more value than what you assumed I offered.
If I were to rework that to include both Nurse and Draisatl, I would propose instead to substitute Pietrangelo, and we'd up the ante on picks:
Pietrangelo, Thompson, 2nd for Draisatl, Nurse, 1st. No, I don't expect that offer would be popular with the fans of either team. Managers might see it as a decent hockey trade though.
But regardless, it sounds like you agree that Parayko, Thompson and a 3rd for Draisatl and a 2nd is at least an offer worth entertaining. Is that fair?

I don't disagree, but I can't come up with a scenario where he returns anything of value, either. For anyone needing a player of his caliber, there are simply better options available. And I don't think his inconsistency should be rewarded, and certainly not at the cost of playing time for younger, hungrier players. Downgrading from a 3rd to a 4th pick to avoid the hassle of having to buy him out or hide him on a crowded roster is acceptable to me. But I don't expect that sentiment to be popular, either.

In retrospect, I agree that is a lowball offer for ROR. Blues would be much better off keeping those players and signing Stastny, or better yet, Tavares. Would still need to clear a bit of salary somewhere, though.

Well I am hoping that my Buffalo Sabres take on a few expiring overpriced contracts in exchange for prospects &/or draft choices...... I would only be interested in contracts that expire in 2018/2019 or 2019/2020. I would like all the dead wood gone and cleared out by the 2020/2021 season!

Columbus doesn’t need Berglund, he’s a decent player who had a down year..... just keep him.

Also we are already deep down the middle age don’t need another.

Five stars for taking O'Reilly.
This is a conundrum. you are offering two good prospect and a 1st round pick, nearly enough for O'Reilly.
Steen is a very good player his 46 pts ranked 29th among all NHL LW. His age, contract size and length gives me cause to pause. I am leaning to making the trade under 2 conditions, drop the 3rd going to SLB, and maybe hold back some of his salary let's say $1,000,000 then maybe Botterill could move him to a team looking for a LW.
Does any one know the rules for two teams withholding salary on the same player. Because if this was possible, then if Sabers held back $1,000,000 along with the Blues, his salary is $3,750,000 which should be very managable.

All but the drais trade are pretty fair. Edm isn’t giving him up and swapping a 2nd rd pick for 3rd to get parayko and a mid level prospect. Thompson doesn’t have a high ceiling. Unfortunately we have give up the first rd pick to dump Steens brutal contract. Throw Thomas in the deal for drais and that’s fair.
