That ruins Philly’s future plans. Nice job.

I think I is good and the cap should be going up to possibly 82 million which gives you plenty of breathing room. I also recommend trading Lehtera's contract, as he is horrible.

I don't want Tavares. Hexy is trying to clean up his cap space....not cause more chaos.

Plus getting rid of good young defensemen in the process....No thank you.

No it doesn't? This is the exact type of thing that was the point of clearing cap space. So we could make moves and go all in on elite talent if it's available. JT absolutely helps the Flyers and if you disagree and think someone like Rubtsov or Frost or anyone is a lock to be that level good you're clueless.

I'll put it this way. What provides more wins for the team over the next 3 years and gives them a better chance to win the cup?

Weise, AMac, Lehtera, and Raffl at $14.3M

OR

Tavares, Frost, and Vorobyev $13M

... pretty clear the direction I'd go. Plus, by the time the second wave of young kids need new deals G will be expired and signing for less or moving on and maybe Voracek is moved or easier to move with less term left (think Kessel type deal or something). Signing JT would essentially allow the Flyers to role back the clock and try to win with Giroux. I can't believe i have to even explain why signing a player like Tavares would be amazing haha. If you want me to put it another way would you rather play PIT in Rd 1 next year with JT, Coots, and Patrick down the middle or Coots, Patrick, Laughton/Bozak/Lehtera/or any other plug UFA?

what young dman did he trade? And how does JT cause more cap chaos? Nobody ever complains about productive players getting paid a lot. It's when you try to be cheap and sign players like Lucic or Okposo thinking they are elite like JT and then being mad when you see they aren't impacting your team at all.

I'd love it. We'd have to make a few moves in the future but this is the type of thing Hexy has to kick the tires on. The only thing I'd mention is that I doubt Jt signs here to play second fiddle to Coots on the 2nd line. Maybe they'd have to pitch the PP time over Coots and split the 5v5 duties. I'm sure it would work fine and would awesome to see.

Welcome to the JT bandwagon Nate, glad to have you joining us today. Another point is no need to pay to get rid of Lehtera, as much as I dispise him his contract is up after next year. Hoepfully Frost can make the team putting him with JT and Voracek and bumping Weal down to the 4th line where he should be

Actually I was just giving this guy my opinion on how the team looks. Tavares would have probably helped out a lot in this Pens v.s Flyers series.
