The only way I see Karlsson getting that low of money is if its a 1-2 year bridge deal. The kid just had a HUGE year and plays a premier position. Any long term deal is $7+ million a season.

Then there is no way he's taking a 6 year deal at $5.5 million lol. He's eligible to be a UFA in 2 years, why would he take a $5.5 million deal that carries him till he's 30yr old? If VGK doesn't want to lock him up long-term for market value, I'm sure his agent will push for a 2 year deal at less money. When his contract is up, Karlsson can head where he wants. The best option might be a 1 year prove it deal.

That’s what I’m saying, sorry I should have been clearer. E gets a 1 or 2 year prove it wasn’t a single great season, then he signs his mega deal. I don’t agree with him taking a long term deal at 5.5 either, he’ll get a 2 year 5.5 a season bridge deal

I'm sure that's why he'll push for, but if your Vegas do you offer him a 1 year deal? At least with a 1 year deal he's still an RFA. If they go 2 years, he's going to finish him contract up as a UFA and they lose control.

If your Vegas, I think you're ok with that. They've have around $30 million in cap space going into the off-season
