You essentially are going "all-in" short term by trading your youth for established players

Therefore I think you need to do one of these
1) Trade some of those 2nd to get a 2C.
2) Move back into the first round to get a top C prospect and potentially play him. Maybe check with NYI [#12 for 3 2nd & Lindgren]
3) Trade Pacc for a good C and sign a scoring winger (JVR, James Neal, ...)

Agree, with a preference for option 1. I'd undo the trade for Monahan, and build a package around the 5th OA to land ROR instead. If the plan is to win now, there's no point in paying a premium for a younger 1C, especially if that premium is a quality player like Gallagher.

Win-now mode... not necessarily according that you are getting
1C Monahan 22yo
1LW Domi 23yo
1LHD OEL 26yo
I think the habs like look stronger, younger and faster... for many years.
Keeping all 4x2 nd rounder for future prospect

I wouldn't spend my package on ROR... I don't think he as a better value than Draistal or Monahan 70-75pts guy.
He is a great 60pts Center & would cost less... something like Chucky +2nd or Petry + 2019 1st top 10 protected.

No needs for JVR... but Bozak seems more realistic at 2/3C

You need to gives to get a REAl young 1C.... and Gally would be replaced by Domi IMO... or it will be Drouin & Monahan team now on!

As well... already made a roster trading for NYI both first rounder: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/667307
Seems to be realistic and a great win-win solution...Have fun :-)

Flames will only move Monahan if they get Tavares, otherwise they trade a center for a winger and then need to find a center.

Getting 2 top wingers... one playing RW... and the other Bros as value...
at Center you have Jank who played well in Monahan absence at the end of the season... you have Backlund, Bennett as well... maybe signing Tavy Statsny or Bozak as 2C?

They would need someone. Jankowski has a future, but isn't the number one Monahan is, and Backlund is a shut down center. If he plays the top minutes, who defends? They would have to add at center for this to work. Getting two wingers would be huge, though.

Brady Tkatchuk can maybe jump at C as well to help out... or sign Statsny or Bozak... But I think the value is there...after would any GM do it... No like 100% of all trades we see here... it's just for funrock on
