Description
Putting Washington merits aside, it's obvious that Pens lost to them happens because our lack of scoring depth and lack of depth in our D either.

So, my purpose here is obviously bring more depth to our team.

Hoffman already played alongside Brassard in Sens, so reunite them again could be interesting for us.
As for Beauchemin, he's a veteran solid d-man and could help our D to be more consistent and improve our PK as well.

I know many of you guys probably will disagree with both of my trades values. But here's my arguments.

1) Hoffman drops his offensive production last season and we all know that players value is based almost 100% in what they're doing, not in what they've already done. So, that's why what I think that offer is a quite fair one.

2) Hunwick had a bad season. But he's not a bad player. He would bring Vegas more depht in their D and could bounce back playing for a more solid team defensively. I'll give an example. Engelland is just a depth d-man and he's been solid playing in Vegas D. No way Engelland is better than Hunwick!! Besides, Simon could bring more depth at left wing or center to their team either. And finally, Vegas has 11 picks in 2019, so they can take the small risk of that trade.

Finally, I signed with Beagle, a very good depth player, PK and faceoff specialist who has good speed. So he'd fit in Pens scheme pretty well. Chris Stewart would bring more grind to our bottom 6, a lack that we have in our roster and he still can contribute offensively with about 10, 15 goals per season. That'd be good for a 4th liner or 3rd sometimes. Jerabek would be a depth sign to our D.

You lost in overtime in game 6 after winning back to back cups. Calm down

I think the Sens are going to want more for Hoffman. Sheary is a third line winger, Sheahan a 4C, Lauzon is just kinda meh, and the first is most likely going to be pretty late. I'm sure the Sens would be looking at someone like Sprong as a starting point in the deal, as well as the first.

But I ain't blowing up our roster. I'm just bringing a much needed depth. It's almost a consensus that the lack of depth was a critical point to us this season. In postseason just Crosby and Guentzel were consistent offensively. Sheary was a disappointment, Rust wasn't the same of last two seasons and Brassard score just 3 points. Not even close of what Bonino did for us. That's why I think Sheary and Hunwick need a fresh air, cause none of them are bad players. Specially Sheary. He has a good upside and maybe he can bounce back playing for another franchise.

As for our D, well...it's quite impossible to win having Ruhwedel and Oleksiak as your top 6 pair. I'm ok with one of them playing, but both in the same time it's really bad idea.

So, I'm sure that bring more depth will make us a top contender again.

Sheary would be a top 6 winger in Sens roster. They have a huge lack of scoring depth in any offensive position and Sheary is better than most of their wingers. In fact, just Hoffman and Stone are better than him. Bobby Ryan is not even close the one who played for the Ducks. And Gaborik and Burrows are even worse than Ryan. Besides, as I said, Hoffman had a drop of his numbers last season. He scored just 22 goals. That's why I think the value is there. Unless another team offers more to bring him. Then we'll have to put Sprong in the conversation indeed.

Just because Sheary is a top six winger for them, it doesn't make him a legitimate top six winger. I'd say Ryan is still better than Sheary, plus they have White who can play wing. Look at Duchene last year. The numbers dropped off, but he still got a massive haul. And after the huge amount of pieces that they gave up for Duchene, they're going to need a lot of quality from this deal. It's not here.

Duchene has to be their top center. They don't have any quality center but him. JGP is a middle 6 center. A 3rd line center to be more specific. White can develop into a top 6 center, but he's not ready for that role yet. So, I wouldn't use Duchene as winger anymore. As for Ryan be better than Sheary, that's arguable this days. He had much more upside, but he turns into a bust player after the trade for Sens. Besides, Sheary have showed he can be a legitimate top 6 winger in the season 16/17. Just 2 years ago. Ryan last good season was in 15/16 and his cost and benefits are terrible. Sheary's much better than his.
