Description
Bettman says cap going to be $78-82M, w/ Vegas making the WCF I absolutely think $80M is the lower bound, so went with $81M for my ideal. Don't really know how it gets done, but Carolina could use more speed and scoring, so it would be ideal to basically give them those two guys for nothing. Looks like Karlsson is on his way out of Ottawa and Burns could give them term. His NTC probably gets in the way though. De Haan's injury history unfortunately doesn't get him a long term lucrative deal.

Burns is better then Karlsson..... also he's much more consistent then Karlsson and his term is longer..... overall San Jose loses that trade..... sorry

Ummm. Have you watched Burns play? Have you seen his numbers? Burns is a huge defensive liability. Karlsson is absolutely without a doubt a better D man than Burns. Burns: 82gp 12g 55a 67p -16 +/- on a very good team. You shouldn't be a minus on the team that the Sharks are without being really bad. Karlsson on a very bad team playing with injuries 71 9 53 62 -25. I, and most GMs, would take Karlsson in a heartbeat over Burns.

Karlsson plays Defense????? WHAT?????? Both players play the same game...... and how does a guy go from having an amazing career year to having a career worst season???? I'm just saying at least with Burns you now what you're going to get.....

Burns is signed for 7 more years, Karlsson just one. He could jump ship and likely would because we can't afford him.

Karlsson plays much better D than Burns. He has the instincts because he has played D his entire career from pee-wee to NHL. Burns played F all the way up to and including the AHL, so he only has F instincts. Karlsson went from a career year (ish) to terrible because of injury, but also because the Sens were miserable. As in awful. As in one of the worst teams in the league. Dealing with both of those it’s fairly easy to see why a guy would have a bed year.

That’s true but Burns is there fir the long hall and Karlsson can leave after one year......not sure I’d give up that much for a rental, thus leaving you with Vlasic who’s good but not offensive enough to make up fir loosing burns.
