given Buffalo needs help on D, I don't think the go for it

if Mtl could swap Patch for another first rounder, say with NYI for the 11th. then maybe they talk 3/11+ for #1 but i'd be surprised

Absolutely not. Ufa and a useless player. Some good picks but doesn't come close to dahlin and reino.

Ya I think it was sportsnet that did this and they were thinking of adding galchenyuk in the trade but Idk if Montreal would give that up and I don’t know if buffalo says yes

Dahlin is untouchable! Unless you give up the entire Farm team... and even then

Never, aside from McDavid, no one is worth Dahlin

Here is Botterill's counter offer Price 50% retention, Weber 50% retention, Gallagher 50% retention, Galchenyuk 50% retention, 2018 1st (MTL), 2018 2nd (MTL), 2018 2nd (CHI), 2019 1st (MTL).

Too much, well then Dahlin is not moving.

Pacioretty is not a UFA for another year and, having survived a broken neck, is a fan of income certainty. I suspect he will gladly accept a decent extension. He's not dumb.

JDLR? Still young and already a better player than Eller was at the same age. He's not the second-coming of Moses, but he's a decent NHLer.

Picks are picks. Even the #1 is a crapshoot and it only gets weirder from there. Everything we hear says Dahlen is an excellent prospect, but before the Sabres fans get too smitten, let's look at the last 5 defencemen drafted #1 overall: Aaron Ekblad (awesome, but Draisaitl went #3); Erik Johnson (Jordan Staal and Jonathan Toews); Chris Phillips (awful draft); Bryan Berard (Wade Redden -- another D -- and Shane Doan); and, Ed Jovanovski. At the time, all these guys had the same kind of hype and they all had good careers, but none have been franchise players.

I know you're being facetious, but you can only retain salary on 3 players.

This, Patches had 1 more point than Beau last he is going to be on the wrong side of 30. Islanders had top 5 offense last year. We don't need aging wingers with that pick. We need to improve the D-Core, off load bad contracts or just make the pick.

Trading one of the those picks for Patches is a down right fire-able offense for Snow.
