I like that trade for Beaulieu. Good friends make a trade that hopefully helps both teams.

I think you could include Hagelin in that trade for Maata.

Beaulieu ($1,200,000 retained) 2019 2nd, 2019 3rd, 2020 3rd for Maata and Hagelin?

I really do not watch as much Hockey as I would like. Beaulieu had similar stats before joining Buffalo as Maatta has for Pittsburgh this year. But with 2 rings each for Maatta and Hagelin I like the deal anyway. Then add Wilson and Nolan, Buffalo would have 4 players with rings, maybe the locker room culture would change.

Fat chance the cap increases to $82 million this year, That's a $7 million increase not happening. Probably $78 million for 2018/2019 season and then maybe $82 million for the 2019/2020 season. And no way is John Tavares playing 2nd fiddle behind both Crosby and Malkin he wants to be the #1 guy not 2nd banana.
