that is not a legitmate trade proposal that is a robbery, Same with the Carolina trade no way either franchises would do either without losing their gm's the following hour.

With the mess that Ottawa has created for themselves, and specifically the fact that they are losing their unprotected 2019 1st rounder, I don't think they would ever consider trading their 4th overall this draft unless the price really blew them away. I would think something like Nick Schmaltz OR Alex DeBrincat and their 8th overall might do it, but that would make relatively no sense for Chicago. I would say Chicago is much better off staying the course and drafting at 8th. With the news last week that Brady Tkachuk will return to school, a fair number of industry-relevant people have him now as high as 10th. Tkachuk might be one of 3 2018 draftees that could step into the NHL next season and succeed and if there was any team in the NHL that could convince him to forgo his NCAA eligibility it would probably be Chicago. Even though they are an older core, they still remain a legitimate playoff threat provided Corey Crawford remains healthy and Duncan Keith gets back to his Norris Trophy form.

Unless the trade is an absolute slam dunk, the sens can't trade the 4th overall. They need to be able to very clearly justify the move or the fans will tear them apart. This trade is not a slam dunk by any means

I wish people would stop trying to pretend like Carolina would trade one of their top 4 d-men for Anisimov. Anisimov is a fine 2C and great 3C, but that is not what Carolina wants - they want a legit 1C and they're not giving up any of their top d-men without getting one back. Maybe before they won the #2 pick this year they would have done it for an elite winger, but now they're going to have one in the making.

Carolina and Chicago make bad trading partners.
