2018: Draft of the Blues

Created by: BigBeardBurns
Team: 2018-19 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 20, 2018
Published: May 20, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trading to get as many 1sts in 2018 as possible. Unrealistic youth movement in St.Louis (after all the cap dumps, of course).
Top 10 Picks
#4-Tkachuk
#6-Wahlstrom
#9-Veleno (or Kotkaniemi)
#10-Dobson

Each line has 2 co-centers because of refs constantly kicking Centers out of the dot.
Line 1 Marleau and Nylander
Line 2 Thompson and Fabbri
Line 3 Barbashev and Tkachuk
Line 4 Ho-Sang and Nielsen
We also have a lot of extras in the minors so depth for injury shouldn’t be an issue.

Except for the fact that cap dumps have never got so much in return and ignoring the NTCs and NMCs, it all seems so practical.

doesn't play at all for Ottawa. Sens seem to be gearing up for a rebuild, so you definitely can't trade both firsts. Also I don't see the rush at all to move Bobby's contract. The sens will be running closer to the floor than the ceiling, and it would cost way to much to move him. Plus I'm just optimistic enough to think that Logan Brown could be the Centre that gets Bobby going.

The trade value should b good, tho, considering Bobby is a cap dump. What if Logan can’t get Bobby going? I mean, this trade for Schenn gives u a C that can play 2C behind Duchene or play the wing if needed. I’m pretty sure ur paying less than what STL payed to get him.

Aren't there a whole bunch of cap dumps going to the Blues, which is why the Blues get the inflated sweeteners?

I see what ur doing, but the Florida trade really grinds my gears. Schwartz is arguably the Blues best player and no one outside STL gives him any recognition.

This is completely dumb and a insult to the Blues. Tarasenko is not being given up and nor are any of the other players. Honestly straight up insult.

Schwartz, Schenn, Tarasenko, Parayko, Petro all untouchable unless you cook up something amazing for Parayko.

I don’t agree with the moves, but they aren’t untouchable. Tone it down a bit. They can be moved if the value is there and plenty of teams can provide the value if they wanted to. Also it’s not insulting. Seems like the trend is to tank and collect picks. I see what the guys doing, don’t like it, but I see where he’s going.
