From the outside looking in. Not a fan but its what i think they should do

Description
Basicly i think the habs should go hard at JT but most people realize he is likely staying on the island so MTL manager strategy should be im going to build two second lines and two 3rd lines. Keeping all draft picks should be a priority.

I like the Nash pickup. I would worry about 5 years of Stastny at $7M, but it's not a deal breaker.

You still have about $4M or more to spend because you didn't raise the cap, so you can try to shore up the weak D.

Habs defencive depth was a problem last season but if weber stays Healthy and juulesn takes a step fwd it may look alot better over the course of next season. Basicly i think the probet course of action is not to panic if ur a habs fan. Injuries devastated the habs last year. Balanced scoring and scoring in general were big issues last season.

I think that the Statsney contract is a problem down the road. It is very similar to the situation the hawks are in with Seabs. I think there are better ways to spend 7 mil and I think statsney is worth around 5 max

I tend to agree with the 5 mill value of statsney as a player but he on the ufa market as probably the second best centerman available. So in the 2018 ufa market his value is inflated. That just the nature of the ufa beast

Yup. Not to mention that he'd signing with a team that was a long way from making the playoffs last year, so you'd have to overpay him to get him to even consider it. I'd say somewhere around 5 year/$6-6.5 would do it, anything less than that is because he's signing with a contender (Somehow making it fit in WPG, or something along those lines).

I am with you on that, though he's fine in the Pleks role. That said, I think I prefer to give that mantle to JDLR, and you could use Danault as trade bait.

True but I don't think it is inflated 2 mill. Yes he is a very good center but I don't think any team would be willing to pay a 32 year who scores under 60 points 7+ mill. If there were to be a team that would do that, I doubt that it would be the tabs considering they have players like Daneult locked up with an rfa.
