Yes but the chemistry he has with Aho is immense. They are great friends and have grown to be first line players with each other's help. Trading him could stunt Aho or cause him to distrust the organization. Not worth it in any way imo.

I think you are devaluing Risto and ROR a bit here and their value to Buffalo. You are taking their all-situations top shut down center that is relatively young with term and puts up 60 points AND their top defender who plays in all situations, is locked down for a good term and salary, good for 40+ points, and is incredibly young. That’ll take more than a very good but not as polished young defender, solid top-9 center, high end winger, and draft pick to get those two from Buffalo. Getting both I just don’t think would be worth it for Carolina
