I guess trading for Rinne makes more sense than trading for Lundqvist because he has one year left on his contract. But even then, he's not a long term fix. He's in his mid to late 30s.

Small problem with the cap there. I know you said Lou would find a way to move Ladd/Boychuk/Clutterbuck, but how do we know that move won't include a 1st rounder or key player?

Honestly, if you undo the Rinne deal and offer a 2nd rounder to Buffalo for Lehner's rights, I think this looks fine. I'd also bring up Bellows, put him at LW3 and move Beauvillier to C3. Travis St. Denis has a lot to prove before he gets an NHL roster spot.

Rinne is gone in 2-3 years max. No way would I break up the Barzal chemistry AND fork over the 12th pick in a loaded draft
