God no....Makar and a pick for a guy who put up 48 points.

That is a complete disaster of a trade for the Avs. A former 4th overall for a 2nd line player...are you sour on Makar already man? I feel like that is really under valuing him
    tp47 and ELNOSHOW liked this.

easy no from Detroit, Mantha would cost you an overpayment, not a fair trade

    probably something like

    Mantha+3rd ot 4th

    Rantanen

hahaha you think Mantha is worth Rantanen.

what has Mantha done in his career that equals the value Rants? Heck Rants almost had more points last year than Manthas whole NHL Career
A 3rd round pick makes a trade for a 87 points in 150 games worth a guy who 122 points in 165 Games...come on man

"easy no from Detroit, Mantha would cost you an overpayment, not a fair trade"
in other words, he's not available

My reading comprehension is fine, you list Rantanen for Mantha.....sure Team A would trade their guy if they get a player that doubles their production.
Thats beyond over payment, thats fantasy land. Thats saying if the Sens would trade Codi Ceci they would want Wereneski to do it as an over payment.

Again that does not have any baring in reality

if you look at over payment (Burrows, Hansen, Shattenkirk, St-Louis...etc...) in the past, yes they exist so I will still say that Mantha is highly valued from the Wings and if you want Mantha you'll have to give more than Makar+2nd and a lot more than that

EDIT: and rumors were that Holland wanted 2-1st for him last fall when he was still unsigned before heading to camp

Hard "NO" on moving Makar at this point. I don't think Roussel adds anything valuable to this team. That dude is Kookoo for Coco Puffs, and will be out of the league in a few years when his role is further diminished, imho. Not entirely against the Ward move since Varly has a glass groin, but that would mean Francouz in the minors. I know he's on a one-way deal, but I'm not sure he sticks it out the full year if he's in the A the full year. Varly will get hurt, so I suppose I feel better with a Ward/Francouz tandem than a Francouz/Martin tandem.

Bc GMs are dumb and over value their own players doesnt mean thats what they are worth on the market. Of course he is going to ask for way too much. Sens GM wouldnt move Ceci for Drouin or Hall bc they thought he was too valuable. No look at this mess in Ott.

Would you trade the 4th overall for Mantha this year? Bc thats what you are saying isnt good enough of an over payment for him with your Makar comment. And that is just silly
