This Ottawa trade is interesting. While I am all for leveraging Lindgren, I am not convinced Gauthier has what it takes. I'd much rather make a deal with Detroit. They need goalies. They have Larsson and Coreau, but they're weak in the position after trading Mrazek. They also have no way to afford Larkin, Mantha and Athanasiou without making other giveaways. Perhaps Lindgren for Zetterburg is not the craziest idea for both teams. Having Zetterburg mentoring JDLR might be amazing.

Like Truebeliever said, that Ottawa trade is interesting. I think we could use Ryan more than Alzner (if Ryan can stay healthy) even with his concerning cap hit. Original idea, and I don't think it's half bad for either team.

I think Lindgren needs to prove more in the NHL before the Canes are moving a top prospect like Gauthier.

Original idea, LOL. That was my idea weeks ago on this very board, and it has been in a few variants I have posted. That being said, I do agree with the idea.

I may have missed it but usually the proposals tend to be around the same bases, this was the first time I've seen this proposal.
