No way does duclair get $2.5M, more likely $1.5M. He's done nothing to prove he can stay on the ice for a full season and when he does, show he has positioning so this will be a bridge deal if the Hawks resign him. Maroon is NOT a 1st liner...no way. You didn't LITR Hossa correctly, it has to be the last move you make when making a team as his relief should be close to all of his salary. Also, have to have at least 21 guys playing. Hino will get about $1.5M. Hayden will get $1.1M.

maroon is a tom Wilson type player not a first liner but can open up space for kane. duclair already makes 1.5m and don't see him getting less and doesn't matter if I did hossa even without that relief I have cap space.

Damn! but many players have the post concussion syndrome and come back though? They just need time. Shaw had 3 concussions in a year and he was slated to come back until a knee surgery took him out until November next year.

Is it like documented somewhere that it'll be Marc Savard bad or something?

Well from the things that I read, they indicated that he's been suffering from vertigo. and you can't very well play Goal in the nhl if everything starts spinning on you randomly.

Kk i think he'll be fine then. if it was the Savard type thing, especially with everything that is going on now with concussions, they wouldn't rush him back.

Wrong, Duclair makes $1.2M today and he hasn't stayed on the ice both to getting put down in the minors and also injury but during his time showed he still has issues understanding the game and positioning. In other words, no way does he get $2.5M and anything over $1.75M would be unrealistic. Additionally, it does matter you didn't Hossa's cap space correctly. With the mess up on Duclair and Hossa, that's an additional $5M+ of cap space to get a proper LW like JVR, Perron, Neal, etc. instead of Maroon.

they need someone like Maroon, they have zero power forwards , since they traded hartman

So get JVR. He would be much better as a 1LW then Maroon. Plus you didn't bring up Hayden, resign Martinsen, and bring up Edjsell...all power forwards who are cheap and have upside.

young unproven players, JVR is going to want a high price and a high term you think the hawks want to get stuck with another huge contract? lol

In your scenario, once you LITR Hossa correctly and not sign Maroon, you have $8.5M available. JVR is $6.5M...Hawks can afford him. Cap will increase again next year to $82M and $84M or more the year after.
