Kessel and sprong and a 1st is too much, we are taking in Ryans contract here too after all and its for another 4 years too.

Yeah you are probably right. I just think if Bobby Ryan plays with Sid then he can turn his career around and the trade would work out for both teams.

Possibly, everyone gets picky about their linemates though, including Sid. Ryan or anyone would never complain though when they are told they are going to be paired with a name as prestigious as Sid or McDavid or Ovechkin..etc

There is no realistic situation in which the Penguins would take on Ryan's contract.

For one year at that cost (Kessel, 1st, Sprong +)? Not considered for a second.

Massive overpay for one year of Karlsson, and taking on Ryan's contract makes it virtually impossible to re-sign EK.

Good call. If OTT retains half of Bobby Ryans salary does it make the trade even?

It makes it closer, but without a contract extension in place, I don't really want to give up that much for one year of Karlsson. Also, Bobby Ryan isn't the quickest skater and I think he would struggle to fit in with the Pens.
