Ha Ha both Carlson and Tavares are getting 7 year deals Carlson 7x8.5 and Tavares 7x11.5 more then likely Tavares isn't signing for one year and neither is Carlson taking a 4 year deal.

Maybe for carlson, but if tavares came to toronto his next year value would be higher.

Though Borgman, Liljegren, and Ozhiganov may become good NHLers do do think the are going part if a 2019 Cup push is kinda of overzealous optimism. Some of the trades are Leaf slanted. Why get rid of two goalies, there isn't much to back up if one of the other two are injured. And as Larkin indicated, those UFA signs....doubtful.

Is it in Ontario Provincial law that Leafs fan think Leivo has ANY value whatsoever?

If you look at Ristolainen as a comparison for Liljergren, a European playing in the AHL at 18, it might not be unrealistic to think he can contribute next year. Ristolainen had 20 points in his age 19/20 year in Buffalo and then has enjoyed 3 straight 40+ point seasons. If he plays limited minutes with a good vet, he could help.

I don't understand the logic of how JT's value will go up after playing 1-year in Toronto. He can likely get a 7-yr $12m contract. Maybe he takes less to go to a specific team/city he likes. Never know what can happen health-wise so can't imagine he'd risk upwards of $72 million to get an extra $2m up front.

Carlson can probably get a similar sized contract on more term. I don't get a vibe that he's looking at Toronto as an option.

Edmonton likely doesn't want our 1st and a hand basket of spare parts for the 10th overalll

If Dallas likes Jake then it's a reasonable deal.

Vegas trade is tough to judge unless there's specific guys at those spots you're targeting.

I don't see Leivo having any TRADE value. For that reason, I say the Leafs should keep him and if he's good enough to make to make the Leafs (again), so be it. I don't understand the "Free Leivo" campaign. He willingly signed an extension with the Leafs last season, at a time when he was sitting in the press box. If he wanted freedom, he should've taken his chances being a RFA in this summer and peddled his services.
