    some something from each side...

1 - why would Phil waive his NTC/NMC to go to ARZ?

2 - Why would ARZ want to pay $7 million for a $6.8 cap hit?

Agree completely. Arizona isn't gonna be competitive until Phil the Thrill is past his prime

Considering the constant rebuilding state of Arizona, I see no reason why they would want to trade away their 2018 1st overall just to bring in a ton of contract. I would think there'd be several better team fits for Kessel then Arizona, who seems highly content with keeping their cap low and their win total low, as well.

Seems like pens could get a little more out of Sheary and Kessel than Domi and the 1st. Kessel was one of the top players in the league last year, Sheary is still a solid player even if he's overpaid a little.

He has the right idea but he's being too passive about it

I also quote him, ARZ wants to keep an internal cap hit not bring in huge contracts

OMG I was thinking about this today. The only reason I could deduce he goes to ARZ is because of Rick "the kessel whisperer" tochett. The trade is way off. Phil prob wont be booking a 1 way ticket to Glendale anytime soon sorry

Arizona is closer to being competitive than their overall record would indicate. The second half of the season they were much improved going 20-14-7. Compounded out over a full season that would be 94 points, one point shy of making the playoffs.

I agree that the incoming money for Arizona may be too high, but they do have a lot of bad contracts coming off of the books in the next 2 years. (Bolland, Kruger, Panik, Hjalmarsson, Smith retained salary, Ribiero buyout)
