Dallas desperately need scoring and have a lot of young stud defenceman. Montreal needs centers and a top LHD. This trade solves both problems for both teams.

that' one of the best trade value for Patch I've seen...but I don't think Mtl needs to give their 1st pick.
Nash and Duchene were traded for very similar...and Pacioretty is better

Heiskanen was selected 3rd overall last year and won the liiga rookie of the year so he certainly didn't loose any value.... I see what your trying to do but I don't think Dallas move him. He'll be a stud . That would be great for MTL though

It is a big trade, and giving up 3rd overall and patches is a lot, but breaking it down I don't think DAL is better off for it. They are not that loaded on D-prospects/players, so they're not really in a situation to give up Heiskanen. Given DAL's lack of depth at center, I think it would do more harm than good for DAL to give up Faksa for Patches. Even saying a 1 for 1 swap, and swapping Heiskanen for 3rd overall, DAL still has to give up pick 13 this year which they desperatley need. It's a big trade, and a great idea, but I just don't think DAL would be able to do it.
