Interesting... i guess if aho plays wing that will change things, but if the canes get zadina do you think they can both play next season?

By they I mean zadina and necas

So the Bruins offered Pasternak for Hanafin? Because that’s what Zadina is projecting to be, which is what dictates his trade value according to you.

His value is a mid first rounder and a prospect, that prospects value would differ on what position and need they aimed for him to play.

You can say that a players value is what they are going to do for a team but you have to look at their career and see what they have consistently done, when GM say there’s a guy who is going to score 30 us. For the past 7 years Pacioretty has been nothing but a top line left winger, over that time you could even say he was one of the 5 best left wingers in the game.

You can have your opinion but stats and facts point to a very different story. Not to mention that if I’m Carolina he walks into their top PK unit, PP unit and probably plays 18 minutes a night.

No Canes asked for Pasta, B’s declined.

Key word...was. I agree with your past assesment of him. But a 15 goal scorer that can’t play center and isn’t a shutdown winger doesn’t get the return that Habs were looking for. He needs to get back to that 30 goal scorer to get that return. I hope he does, always enjoyed watching him play.

Hanifin is worth more than the third overall pick

How? Zadina projects to be an elite goal scorer and top line player, just like Hanafin projects to be a top line defenceman.

And even if his value is a little higher, the other half of the trade is still ridiculously one sided. A bust of a center for one of the best goal scorers in the league, a good goalie prospect, an NHL defenceman and a second round pick.

This trade is very one sided.

Lindholm is 23, still impoving, thrived at RW last year. Outscored Max last year. Hardly a bust. Benn is 3rd pairing, dime a dozen dman. Lindgren has been an average goalie in the AHL. 3.04 .908 in NHL is not anything to get excited about. Spare parts. As i said toss the 2nd and it’s Max a rental that likely wont re-sign with Habs. a 1st that is an unknown, and spare parts for 2 proven players under 23, 1 an All Star already, still improving, that Habs can have long term, in positions of need. It’s really not that bad from a neutral fan standpoint.

He thrived getting 44 points in 81 games? Pacioretty got 37 in 64 games on a team that was horrible. Lindgren is 23 and already shown he can handle playing at the NHL level by going 5-1 when price was out, he struggled coming back but that was when Price, Weber and Pacioretty were all injured.

And I like how you throw in a 3OA pick like that’s just a toss onto the pile lol I do judge it as an impartial fan and still see that it’s a one sided trade.
