Not really sure why MIN wants to do that trade. And I think the only way EDM parts with their 10 overall is for Risto. Nylander wouldn't even pull a mid 1st right now.

Minnesota is trading down 8 spots, from 20-45 their is not consensus rating for the prospects, if they feel they can get their guy at 32, get another forward prospect and move up 54 spots from the bottom of the 5th to the top of the 4th, they pull the trigger. Again with Edmonton, they move down 14 spots but get a LW prospect and a cheap 2way RW NHLer. Edmonton needs LWers and Nylander is pretty highly regarded still, definitely the best they can get while still getting a 1st rounder this year. He may play in the NHL this year, probably would for EDM, and the 2 contracts help keep Edmonton under budget while filling out their roster with 2 players who are still developing.

Don't think I like the Edmonton trade from the Sabres standpoint, is it really worth Nylander, Baptiste and Fasching for Wahlstrom?

If Nylander has had trouble cracking Buffalo's line up in the past 2 seasons, what makes you think he "would probably fit in EDM's line up next season?" Nylander has fairly minimal value in the NHL right now. Didn't even put up promising numbers in Rochester this past season. The only people that think he is highly regarded still are Buffalo fans that remember they took him over Sergachev, Jost, Brown, McAvoy, Chychrun, Fabbro, Stanley, Thompson...should I keep going?

Trouble? he was 19 and he was hurt last year. He’d probably fit because he’s a great wing prospect, who’s more developed than Yamamoto or anyone they get at 10 on top of that they get another NHL winger and whom ever they want at 24 who will also likely be an NHLer

You act like I’m worried that Buffalo didn’t throw their 19 year old into a toxic tire fire last year

Why wouldn't Edmonton just pick Wahlstrom? I don't see this from Edmonton's viewpoint.

maybe Chiarelli likes Nylander more and takes 2 NHLers to drop 14 spots in a draft filled with talent and end up with another top 6 forward at 24

not till they jettisoned Kane, which is when they started bringing up their younger prospects

That's an awful lot of stretching.
