i think maybe with the 7th we can get a dman that could turn into Risto anyways, so i dont see VAN doing this

i like it for both ends, i just dont think VAN will get rid of the 1st round pick. maybe get rid of Dahlen (not Dahlin) and something else instead, but then the Sabers would say no

I agree i fell like our 7OA would have to be in that deal

That trade is over whelming in favor of Buffalo, I do not see how any Sabre fan could even stop for a moment to not make this trade. Ristolainen is as good as he is because Buffalo does not have another defenseman. He needs to eat up 25% of all defenseman minutes. DATM traded away four defensemen who are close to equal to Tanev and the Sabres essentially got nothing back for all of them.

actually maybe the 1st for next year instead, if were getting JT im sure we could squeez in the playoffs. all i want is that van doesnt get rid of the 7th OA

IMO that is a lot closer than the first one proposed. As I said it was so skewed in the favor of Buffalo I could not see how a Sabre CF GM would hesitate. This one albeit is closer would take a little more consideration. Since the 2019 pick is being offered, Botterill could wait until after the draft to make his decision. If he believed he could draft for another top RHD, then he would certainly move on this deal.
