Well, Statsny is worth half of what you're offering him, clearly you have the Bergevin mentality. And ROR is worth so much more than a mediocre defense prospect. I'm so done woth these ROR trades all over the place. And no, not a Sabres fan, ROR fan.

Stastny is definitely overpaid in this scenario, but for sure I think Bergefail will pursue him and this is how much I think it would take to convince him to sign in MTL. and Congrats on WSH! I personally don't see ROR as a #1 C, imo he's the best #2 C in the game. So anything more than this and it'll border on a ridiculous overpayment. and like I said the 2019 1st is unprotected, and with the direction MTL seems to be heading, that could be a huge return for BUF.

IMO, people just undervalue ROR too often. That value is quite fair yes, but doesn't make really sense for Buffalo. They would be left with a gaping hole in the middle without any other decent centers other than Eichel.

Aren't Reinhart and Mittelstad Centermen? and I think in a perfect world I'm sure they would like to keep ROR, but with the comments he made at the end of the season,there's probably some internal problems where both parties want to move on.

Scherbak doesn’t impress me that much. But if BUF is trading ROR in division, you’re going to overpay. Sorry.

Kid is a stud, and will most likely start next season on the 2nd line. I would still be happy if the Habs kept him. I'm just thinking to get something you have to give something. but hey, I understand trying to make a division rival overpay, I just hope the Habs aren't the team to do it.

I think what I initially offered is the extent of where I'd go. You're counter is basically three 1st's (Danault, Scherbak, and an unprotected 1st) + a conditional 2nd/3rd. and Idk if I want to move Danault, period. Even though ROR is a huge upgrade over him, Habs still need him as #3 C who can easily move up to #2 when needed. Who knows now with Bergefail though.
