Seems like a fair deal for Karlsson although you should get a guarantee that he will resign or that will be a huge waste of assets. I would try to do the deal, without retaining on Lucic, as you need space to resign Karlsson, Talbot, and potentially a decent for Pulju depending on how he does.

I really like the Grabner signing. He has nice speed, and I could see him getting 50-60 point if played on Mcdavid's right side instead of Rattie. Maybe even a Grabner, Mcdavid, Rattie line would work, making space for a solid 2nd line in RNH, Draisaitl and Puljujarvi. That could be a terrorizing top 6 as long as Grabner and Mcdavid can produce well together.

I agree with that. I figured that there would be no way that OTT would be willing to take Lucic contract in full bc they are already dealing with Ryan. Hypothetically, Talbot doesn't get risgined becuase he has another sub-par year and Koskinen plays really well. Obviously Karlsson contract would be big too but that's why I traded Russell now to make room for that.

Seems like it will work. If Ottawa turns into a rebuilder after dealing Karlsson and potentially Hoffman, they could be willing to take on the 2 contracts.

it is a nice trade but ott is not taking on lucic salary they are a budget team and are trading karlsson because of it..... lucic is going to be hard to get rid of
