I think this is off a bit. When Malkin comes back, they WILL put Malkin back on the 2nd line. It doesnt matter how great the Hagelin-Bonino-Kessel line has been and will be in his absence. Bottom-6 would look like this IMO:
Sheary-Bonino-Fehr
Kuhnhackl-Cullen-Rust
(Bennett will probably be hurt by the 2nd round)
Lastly, Sullivan would be smart to play Schultz over Lovejoy. Schultz has been really solid since he got here. Lovejoy is just ok. Cant guarantee you that is what Sullivan does, but it's what he should do.
I see it, but I don't think it can happen, its Evgeni Malkin. If the current 2nd line keeps playing at this level, I could see them maybe trying Geno on 1st line LW. But, I think it's more of a Hagelin-Kessel speed/chemistry thing rather than Hagelin-Bonino-Kessel chemistry thing.
If we're in 2nd round I see
14-87-72
62-71-81
34-7-17
43/19-13-16
I love Beau, but I think he either gets hurt or gets outplayed
I've been thinking the same. Hagelin/Phil work with Bonino because his game is direct and there is less onus on Kessel to play second fiddle. Bonino's game is direct whereas Geno is a patient player who waits for his holes. Best we've seen Phil's play-making ability as well. Obviously you're not gonna put Geno on the third line (especially if this chemistry continues into the postseason), but having a second line of Geno with Beau and Kuhnhackl or another young guy isn't too farfetched
