JVR will want 5-7 years and will get it.

I'd pass on De Haan...too risky and his cost is inflated. Get Hickey or John Moore for $600K less.

Take out the 3rd pick coming back from Car.

Move Oesterle as part of one of the deals above and bring up Forsling as the 7th D swingman.

Overall pretty good!

Hawks need more veteran sandpaper in the bottom 6, guys like Wingels & Vermette and guys that can win draws, that's something the Hawks really need to work on....... I also think Jokiharju makes the team..

It's a good start, with a couple of tweaks it could be great tho..

I want to see this team run 3 top lines and a shutdown line:

Scoring Line 1
Scoring Line 2 A
Scoring Line 2 B
Shutdown line

This team needs some versatility...

The Ottawa and Arizona trades are lopsided, especially the Ottawa one. Murphy is a solid #4 who also happens to be right handed (which is a premium) on a good contract. Zach Smith is coming off a horrible year, is on the wrong side of 30, and is a 30 point center on his absolute best day and probably more of a 20 point one on most days. The Hawks are not adding a pick much less a second, Ottawa is adding. For a second and Murphy, they probably give you Pageau. Hossa/Kero might net a 6th if we include a 2nd. Arizona is at 57 in cap for next year with only 17 players. If the cap top goes to 80, the basement will be 58 or 59 tops. Arizona will be above the cap floor just filling out their roster with rookies/league minimum guys so they are not paying us for the privilege of paying Hossa. I'm not saying you have to attach a premium asset to Hossa, but no one is taking him "to get to the cap floor" much less paying him 3 million out of the goodness of their heart for no reason. You are taking one of Kruger/Panic's salary back & giving up a 2nd-4th at best.
