As awesome as it would be, Tavares isn't coming here (and especially not for 9 million per season). His contract would be more like 11.5 million x 8 years. Also if you're trading Brodin to Edmonton, why not make a move for RFA Darnell Nurse?

You do have an extra $3m in Cap Space so if you need to push JT's cap to 11.5 you could easily. I wouldn't go for Nurse cause I want cap space and to give the you guys on D a chance to step up and develop.

That's fair, I still don't think he's leaving New York with Trotz as their new head coach. I don't think Seeler is quite ready to play 2nd pairing full time, especially with Suter's rare injury. Soucy definitely needs time in Iowa, but he looks like he will be good.

Nurse and Brodin > Brodin and Klefbom for the Oilers top-4 LD. I don't see Brodin getting Nurse without a decent add from MN side. Spurgeon is who EDM needs from Minny, not another LD.

JT would be a fool to stay. They are splitting games between Brooklyn and the renovated Nasauu, they have no practice facility, no goalie and are still a long way away from being a contender. At least with the Wild he can lead a team that is close and be the Franchise of young players. Plus you could always draft a young D at 10 and/or 24 to start building up the D core if Suter truly is gone.

On the Nurse thing, again I don't want him and we don't need him. Give them Brodin and lets use our new Cap Space for the our future #1 center which we have never had and every champion needs... and then use the rest for Flexibility.

few teams would want Ennis and his expensive cap hit, certainly not canes. oilers aren't looking for LHD. tavares likely isn't coming to minni and that lineup with aging cap hits isn't that appealing

The NYI already have a better FWD than anyone on the Wild on his ELC. Bellows, Ho-Sang (no clue what's up with him), 11 and 12 oa picks this year. Eberle and Lee >/= than any Wild wing. They need a goalie, for sure, but other than that they are the same or maybe better off than MN going forward.

I'm still waiting for the NYI to re-sign Tavares and flip Ebs+1st for Panarin, then find a competent goalie somewhere for cheap (similar to the Dub trade the Wild made a few years ago).

Ha! Charelli just tweeted he doesn't care about LHD or RHD... he wants a Quality D. Secondly the Canes need to hit the Cap Floor... and they are in full rebuild so they will take the Pick Improvement to meet the Cap Floor as they won't be competitive next year. As been proven time and time again... every contract is tradeable (i.e. Loungo @ $7m a year). Besides Staal, Mikko and Parise... this lineup isn't aging my friend. Most of the lineup is in the 25-29 range... nearing or in their prime.

They do have young players with potential... but their D is very weak and is more than 1 guy away and finding a goalie isn't as easy as it sounds or they'd have one (just ask STL).

Their d-corps got hit really hard with the injury bug last year, more than just not having any quality. Awful goal tending also makes the d-corps look worse than it is, just ask the Jets. Give them a league average .915 goal tending for the year and they end up around +20 instead of -32.

The Blues front office has some weird unwavering confidence that Allen is more than a 1b goalie.

carolina is nowhere near the cap floor. they are 13m short with 11 players to sign to hit 23. teams that want to bump up from the cap floor do it by taking on LTIR contracts that actually don't cost any money. they don't pay 4.6m for crappy players. a fourth round pick isn't worth 4.6m Luongo, go back to the history of his trade. canucks retain some money and Lou would only go to his new home in Florida.(that's two teams). Ha, sorry to let the facts get in the way of unrealistic cap dumping and unrealistic UFA signings.
