HUGE TRADES that won't happen (OTT/TOR/WSH)

Description
How I see these deals:

-TOR dumps a 2.5 mil healthy scratch and gains a 2nd rounder for taking Ladd's albatross of a contract
-WSH is pretty self explanatory
-OTT swap JGP for a younger Nelson and the big ticket Karlsson for 3 first rounders

Let me know how far off I am on these deals

3x 1sts for Karlsson is a lot for a 1year rental... Even if it is Karlsson, the Isles aren't close enough to win a cup with the current roster, so they cannot mortgage the future for a 1 yr shot without any sort of longterm security on that investment like an extension deal worked out in the trade.

I Assume when this was made karlsson would come with an extension

Do you think 2 firsts would be enough with no extension? Added the 3rd first because I didn’t think 2 would be enough. What would a proper extension be for 3 firsts?

I’d assume whoever trades for him is gonna extend him 5-7 years 9-11 mil per. Or the trade doesn’t happen until July 1st when he’s elidgible for the max contract for 8 years from OTT then traded, but salary should be 9 mil per minimum I’d say

If he has zero intention of resigning and wants to hit the open market, I'd say two early firsts in the same draft is reasonable for a 1 year rental. But NYI isn't even slightly close to being a contender to justify that move.

I let it slide the first time, but I can’t stay quiet. With Karlsson and an avg. goalie the isles are ABSOLUTELY contenders. If you watched any hockey before the month of April you would know that.

Don't see a lot of Isles games out west, so I don't **know** but on paper, they seem to lack the depth that the final-4 teams had. And even with Karlsson, I cannot see them getting out of the 2nd round without a lot of lucky bounces and a softer opponent. I just don't think they have the depth and firepower to compete with TBL, Caps and Pens for the cup next year on a Karlsson **rental deal.** Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd think the Isle would need 1-2years to fill out their roster with their cheap cap-hit prospects before they can be legitimate contenders assuming Karlsson signs long term as part of the trade.
