Is this enough for Marner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>They move Nylander if worse comes to worse. Even still the offer from OP isn't enough and the fact still remains that it would start with Barzal. Whether they would do it or not is irrelevant. OP asked if it was enough and the answer is no.</div></div>
As exo2769 said I would love to know how you are going to pay Marner? He is going to want $8+ and TOR simply can’t do it as currently constructed. And yes, please keep telling me how TOR has no use for a top pairing puck-moving defenseman like Leddy... you really want Barzal? His ELC is up after next year.. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PAY HIM??? TOR holds very little leverage in this situation. Teams know TOR can’t afford Marner and they will use that to their advantage to get him through a trade, as I proposed, or an offer sheet. An offer sheet of 8million+ gets you 2 first round picks, a second rounder and a third rounder. You said picks and prospects doesn’t fit your “win now” strategy. My trade offer is a top pair D (Leddy), a former 1st round pick (Bellows), a former 2nd round pick (Wilde) and 2 first rounders. It comes down to whether TOR wants another team to offer sheet Marner and walk away with picks, or go with a trade to acquire pieces that can help now and in the future.

I agree the trade is not great, but calling Anders Lee a middle six winger is laugh out loud funny. He scored more goals last season than anyone on CBJ and would have finished 2nd in points.

Moves Isles Should Make to Propel Them Back into Playoffs
Replace Duchene with Karlsson and all is good.... If isles are taking on Bobby Ryan's contract with Duchene the return package should be MUCH smaller.

EK Deal
isles have plenty of assets and no team is going to trade their best player for 1 first rounder and garbage.
Trade worthy assets: Lee, Eberle, Bellows, Beauvillier, Teows, Pulock, Nelson. It would sting to lose some of these guys but it is necessary when trying to acquire top talent
Only untouchable is Barzal really

I let it slide the first time, but I can’t stay quiet. With Karlsson and an avg. goalie the isles are ABSOLUTELY contenders. If you watched any hockey before the month of April you would know that.

Isles will not part with Pulock. He will probably play 1st pair D this year alongside Leddy (barring a trade for a better top D). And as much as i see Ho-sang out the door sometime this year I think his stock is too low right now. I think isles should keep him in the minors and hope he matures.

Convincing JT to stay
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MG1986</b></div><div>I could honestly not care less what either the Islanders or Kings did this offseason, aside from the Jon Tavares will-he-won't-he resign saga. As I said, until LA commits to a rebuild, there is no way they are letting go of all-world goalie, who is on a great contract. The only way I see LA trading Quick is if they could get a goalie of either equal value or a goalie prospect like Thatcher Demko (VAN) or perhaps Carter Hart (PHI) who might be ready to immediately step in a steal the show - and even that would be a major gamble. When proposing these blockbusters, people need to try and consider what the needs are from both sides. If LA makes a trade like this for scoring, how in the world are they going to find a Quick-level goaltender to take over starting duties?</div></div>
How about the best goalie in the KHL? Who is 10 years younger than quick and will be on an ELC FOR 2 years. LA gets cheaper and younger. Isles sell the future for the now. Good enough for team needs?

Convincing JT to stay
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>linehan10</b></div><div>I would almost counter and say that’s too much for Quick. Lee is a 40 goal scorer, Nelson is usually pretty consistent for 40+ points, and Sorokin is one of if not the best goalie in the KHL and will come to North America in two years. If LA is legitimately serious about adding scoring I’d think they just might wanna consider that proposal</div></div>
Thought about adding a 2nd rounder from LA, but I knew it wouldn’t go over well. :tearsofjoy

Convincing JT to stay
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MG1986</b></div><div>There's a lot of fantasy-style wheeling and dealing here, but I would say the most unbelievable is Jonathan Quick. With his affordable deal and lots of term left, until the Kings start any sort of rebuild, he's untouchable.</div></div>
Have you seen LA’s cap space? And a lot of guys in their 30’s. They are extremely close to a rebuild. Please explain how these are fantasy-style deals? A 27 y/o 40 goal scorer, a RFA center who consistently puts up 40 points a season, and the best young goalie in the KHL is one hell of a haul for an aging goalie at almost 6 mil AAV.
