As a Leafs fan, I fully support the Myers deal. I think its perhaps a little slanted towards TO (could ask for a 2nd instead of a 3rd). Good trade though, especially if you had Hamonic.

Armia Tanev Lowry going to cost u more I think cgy gm is going to be calling u every day til the trade deadline for that gift Toronto probably too you killed any chemistry built in the run to wcf with that much turnover I don’t believe little or pearrault getting dealt or poolman and free agents don’t tend to flock to Winnipeg so may get 1 of 6 if looking but jets tend to be pretty quiet mainly building from within or ahl vets that look ready for jump to nhl or contribute with moose but can never knock a guy for trying peace

For a lesser cap hit and longer contract terms, Hamonic and De Haan are definitely a stronger addition to the D core than Kulikov and Myers. Armia, Tanev, Lowry might be worth slightly more, but we are talking hundreds of thousands, if anything, which could/would definitely still work under the cap. Little or Perreault probably won't get traded, but the idea of this isn't to predict what will happen, but propose ideas that could potentially work to improve the team. We all know Chevy is more likely to make no moves than a flurry of trades and signings, but I just like the composition of this team, if the Jets decided to get creative and improve some areas like depth in the G, D, and C departments. Every individual trade proposed has aspects that would benefit both teams. If jets weren't able to get the free agents in the first place, which is always a possibility, the trades to add picks and dump cap probably wouldn't follow.

I definitely think it would be a welcome addition to a leafs d-core that badly needs right handed defensemen. I agree, a 2nd could be asked instead of a 3rd, but if I was Winnipeg, I would take the trade either way. Myers is entering the last year of his contract, but with the chance to resign him and the chance to improve upon an already strong team, Leafs would definitely look into this.

Leafs would love that trade. Dumping Little’s salary for a bunch of picks is a great move. All the trades and signings look fine I guess.

I wouldn't say they badly need right handed defenceman. They should improve the right side of their top pairing. But they aren't desperate. Yeah they didn't look the greatest against Boston but a lot of the problem was the Leaf forwards not playing tough enough, plus Boston is a really good team.

Yeah, Boston is a good team relative to the average team in the Atlantic division, but they were definitely able to expose the leafs Defensemen quite a bit throughout the course of that series. Agree that the leafs forwards didn't play tough enough and a few of their star players weren't very influential or effective in the series. If im the leafs, i add a strong defenseman, an elite forward (JT?) and call it a day until the deadline.

JT and Myers or a guy like Tanev in Vancouver and TO is the favourite in the East. They would have terrific speed, off the charts skill, offence to burn and above average defence core. That would be enough to push them to the next level I believe.
