Would not give up a first round pick for next season and I'd rather give up Thompson than Kostin. there's a good chance that we could have a higher pick next season

Five stars for wanting O'Reilly
Hutton, C. is a UFA
Kostin, K. is a good prospect
Blais, S. a decent prospect
Steen, A. a little long of tooth for the Sabres
2019 1st round pick (STL) probably a mid pick
2020 3rd round pick (STL) very low probability of returning an NHL player
2 prospect and a 1st are good. If we replace Kostin with Barbashyov and Botterill thought he had a new landing spot for Steen, he would make this trade.

OK Thompson instead of Kostin works for me as well. So the first from 2020 instead?

I'd consider 2020 1st. Or two 2nd rounders (2019 and 2020)

Kyrou or Parayko or Dunn or Thomas. Some of these guys should be in the deal, otherwise I'm sure the deal will not take place.

None of them will so it probably becomes a wash.

Yeah. That´s only one option. Hutton as a sign and trade is not possible? My fault smile I put Steen because the cap space.
Another option maybe Fabbri, instead of someone, but that´s a risk and Buffalo probably wouldn´t take it.

You´re right. Two second rounders would be definitely better, if Buffalo accept it.

Is this what you all think would be fair?
Let's compare to what DATM gave up for O'Reilly
Hutton, C. no comparison, he may never report to the Sabres and sign elsewhere, but let's presume he signs with the Sabres >> nothing
Thompson, T. = Zadorov
Blais, S. = Compher
Steen, A. > Grigorenko I would imagine if Botterill retained 50% he could find a GM who would take Steen easily for at least a 2nd if not 2 seconds
2019 2nd round pick (STL) +2020 2nd round pick (STL), and 3rd round pick (STL) >> 31st over all in 2015

I see no reason to change my opinion, Botterill would make this deal, 2 prospect, 3 picks, a good centerman and a really good back up GK. I could not see how he could say no.

I was saying Dunn, Parayko, Thomas and Kyrou wouldn't be involved here. The proposal you've given is definitely acceptable. I bet the Blues would even retain some salary if necessary on Steen.

No need to retain, the contract expires when Dahlin's ELC expires as well. TBH, I think in my comparisons, I made it clear that this is much more than DATM gave up to get O'Reilly. That is why, even with the salary, I think Botterill would make the deal.
