Look at our LW depth. Sheary is an upgrade and we gave up nothing

yeah I saw it was conditional but no idea what the condition was and if fulfilled what it would turn into. Without knowing that cant fully judge the deal but if its something that is almost guaranteed to happen I am ok with the deal as well, if its something outrageous I think GMJR got ripped off slightly.

The pens LW's were bad too. He got demoted to the 4th line, and scratched a few games. Maybe he gets better in Buffalo, but I doubt it. He cant pass, hands are bad, loses the puck as soon as he gets it, gets bumped off the puck. Basically when he was with the pens, he was a very weak player and couldnt do much unless he was playing with Crosby. Both teams are very happy with the trade

Buffalo needed Sheary they need someone who is at least capable of finding the net.
He didn't have a place on the Pens. He wasn't going to play the right side because of Sprong, Kessel, and Horny. And the Left side has Gunz, Rust, Hags, and Zar.
He isn't capable of playing on the 4th line because he's too small and not physical enough. If you can't play him on the top two lines he's out of place.
But he does have value if you have space on the top two lines. Probably more than most people including myself expect. I was happy to get rid of that cap space. To have him as the chip that got rid of hunwick is great.
I always knew we would have to give up something to get rid of him. Well, that worked out great.

He's someone else's problem now. Great trade for the pens. Got rid of 2 cap dumps and players the pens do not need and can upgrade
