If Lucic gets in shape this summer and can at least play as a good 3LW, he won't be so frustrating. If he shows up as vintage Lucic, he'd be awesome to have around, and might start to earn some power play time again, where he used to be pretty good at clogging up the front of the net. Might mean the Oilers need to ice two different power play units for close to equal time, but that doesn't mean they can't cycle McDavid through both.

Sure, but I think there's also a chance you could get some value out of a guy who gets paid to camp in front of the net by occasionally giving him some power play time.

every team has a bad contract or two. it's when you too many that teams are in trouble. so lucic makes 3m too much, Russell 1m, sekera 2m, rhn 1.5m. then it adds up. oilers just don't have flexibility to add players they might really want until some of these deals end.
