JT - Wish you the best and thank you for nothing...

Description
I have been a LOYAL Isles for for 40+ years and I am very torn right now. I am a big JT fan and although I understand his desire to go home and fulfill his dream, I cannot and will not forgive him for what he has done to our fans. I am not playing sour apples or any of that but I truly feel if he respected the fans and the organization as much as he said he did, he SHOULD have treated us with the same respect we gave him. He SHOULD have expressed his desire to go home and allowed the only team he knew an opportunity to stay competitive. We are now totally F..d... I realize our leadership has been F...d Up for
while now and I realize they should have surrounded him with better supporting cast but as a fan, what are we to do? JT, as our"captain" you should have proven that you cared for us as much as yourself. I dont know what else to say but good luck, I hope we meet in playoffs soon and "that kid that won the Calder" Barzal shows you what you COULD have had....

Jack Hughes, here we come...

I wouldnt say totally f’ed. The Isles got good young players and some players they can trade for even more prospects (Eberle, Leddy, Lee, Nelson, etc.)

You can't seriously blame Tavares for this. The fact that he was still considering coming back to the dumpster fire that is the Islanders is amazing. That's the only NHL team that can actually be considered homeless. They have no goaltending. In fact, he proved that he wanted to stay by waiting for the Isles to potentially bring in some help. Blame your management for not handling the situation properly. You can't blame him for wanting to go to a team where he can compete for a Cup sooner rather than later.

I am not blaming JT for anything, please re-read ,my post. I am disappointed in how it all went down. I am a fan of the NY Islanders, I am not an owner or GM or anything and just like you are a fan of the Caps, if you cant understand what its like to root for a F...d up organization, I don't know who could. Congrats on your cup win, well deserved....

Maybe tavares can not be blamed, if that's the case it's Snow and Lamoriello that should be. Tavares should have said that he probably did not want to come back and the DG should have exchanged it. If it has been clear the DG is an incompetent and I know what I'm talking about I'm a Habs fan.

Can blame JT. Its now a race to the bottom for Hughes. Barzal Hughes sounds nice. Take on a bunch of cap to get picks and rebuild. Yes NYI has a lot of young talent, but Leddy...Eberle... Nelson. Those aren't bragging names. Lee Barzal and James you beat about

Why is that FANatics love "poaching" UFAs from other teams. That's OK. Those players love our team, love our organization, love our city. But when a UFA leaves, it been traitorous. Seems like an double standard that FANatics abide by.
Can never blame a player for exercising his contractual rights.

I am long time Isles sufferer just as you are as a long time Leafs sufferer. Congrats and I wish your team the best, I really do... I am not blaming JT for exercising his rights, I am blaming JT for how he handled the situation. I am sure you can understand our frustrations on how this all went down.
