I hate to break it to the Blues Fans on here, but this team isn't nearly as good as you think it is. Bozak was a terrible signing. Love the guy and he's a class act but he's too slow for 5v5 these days and at 5 million he's a gross over payment. Also he's 32.

Schenn is a decent player but he's middle 6 at best.

O'Rielly is a very good player and was one of the best 2nd line centres in hockey. He's a bit out of his depth as a number one. The biggest issue facing the Blues though is Goaltending. And that hasn't been addressed.

I definitely agree with you however I see this being a very good team next season. The centre depth while yes a tad overrated and very expensive is still a lot better then what they had last season. If Allen has a bounce back season I definitely see this team making serious noise

Hey if everything falls into place anything can happen. They have a window for a couple of years and the west is basically wide open. Although the Central Division is tough, those top two teams are powerhouses.

Maybe some people are overhyping the team but I think you are underrating them as well. Schenn and RoR may not be elite 1C guys but I think they are at worst low end 1C/high end 2C. Don't love the AAV for bozak but the term at his age is fine and he is a great player as a 3C. Add in anything fabbri can add, Perron who is a solid mid six winger and at least one of their prospects(most likely thomas who is top 10 in the league by most accounts).

Allen should play much better, last year was by far the worst of his career. Either way last year's team was still 1 game away from the playoffs and upgraded at several spots. May not be the favorite, but neither were the caps. Blues as is should make the playoffs and have a chance to compete with the big boys.

Hey I'm a Leafs fan so the bar for centre depth is pretty high for me these days. LOL

That being said, Schenn would be the 4th line centre on TO. Kadri has a slight edge over Schenn. O'Reilly is an upgrade but still a 3rd line centre in TO.

With that being said, I still think St Louis is pretty set at centre ice. Its definitely competitive in the west.

unless Jake Allen actually becomes a consistent and reliable starter...this team will be fighting in the middle of the pack in the division still. If he is anything like last year...oh boy

I love Kadri, had him in fantasy the last two years and watched many of his games. he's great, but he's not better than Schenn or RoR. I'd have them in the top 20-40 range for centers in the league, kadri I'd probably put about 50

We get it you got Tavares. Congrats. Any of your defensemen would probably be bottom pairings on the Blues. Anyway, Schenn and ROR are both better than Kadri.

Kadri has outscored Schenn over their careers and Kadri has played against the other teams best players for the past 3 seasons. If Kadri's draft year was redrafted he would go before Schenn, who went 1 spot earlier I believe.
