Description
Why each team does the trade

Philadelphia-They are one goalie of Carey's level from being Stanley cup Finalists and can afford to give up future assets with most of their core being about Carey's age.

Toronto- They need a top right defensemen to really be a threat to win the cup and can afford to give up wingers and picks as all their other needs are pretty much fulfilled.

Edmonton have a dilemma in that they have 3 centres in McDavid, Draisaitl and RNH that are making too much money. They trade the lesser of the three, get a few picks, and save money.

Ottawa- Get rid of Bobby Ryan and pick up draft picks and prospects without taking much salary back on.

Buffalo- Just might be willing to move down in the draft next year.

With next year supposedly a deep draft, Montreal would have enough young assets that they would essentially only need a couple wingers and a good goalie to really compete. The future offensive unit could be:

Drouin-Kotkiniemi-Puljujarvi
Lehkonen-RNH-Gallegher
Domi-Patrick-Ryan
Brown-Evans-Armia

Defense being:

Mete-Karlsson
Alzner-Petry
Riely-Juulsen

Toronto can't afford Weber. End of the story, they are in a cap crunch next season and even if they weren't (if the world went insane and somehow Matthews, Marner and Nylander all sign for matching 8 year 4 million dollar deals) they wouldn't go after Weber.

Toronto is an extremely fast team and are young. They just wouldn't spend any assets to take on a guy who's best years happened 3-5 years ago. That trade by itself is a loss for Toronto, then because of that trade, they'd have to trade one of Nylander, Marner or Matthews all of who are immensely more valuable than Weber.

I think your forgetting to do the other sides of the trades to see if those teams can even afford these moves. Philly and Tor are spending a lot as is will only get more expensive next year.
