No skinner, no panarin. Not worth it.

Description
This is the only move that BOS should make. Skinner will be sold at a reasonable price but CAR will probably stand pat b/c at this point it seems their waiting for a team to overpay for him. And panarin is going to cost us at least debrusk/Heinen, a 1st + more.

For me personally I think Krug is too much of a liability. He’s great offensively and unbelievable on the PP but behind the red line it’s scary. And as for Cehlárik who I do like and would like to keep is just a kicker in the deal. I also can’t see him really ever breaking this lineup bearing injury with all the young talent we have. Klefbom whose under contract for 5 years while potentially becoming a top pair dman at that price? Yes please. And even if he’s a 2nd pair dman very reasonable contract. But that’s my opinion on this whole Krug for Klefbom idea

I don't know if one is better than the other, because they are different types of dmen. Krug is certainly better offesnsively and on the PP. Klefbom is better defensively, and may be a little better as an all around dman. Why would it take more than Krug to get him? Probably because Klefbom is younger and signed long-term to a fairly reasonable contract.

I can agree that Klefbom's contract is extremely valuable and I completely agree that Cehlarik probably won't be on the team long term but, I really think people undervalue how important to the team Krug is. He is clearly better than Klefbom and although he isn't the best defensively his offense completely outweighs his defensive woes. Brent Burns is another good comparison to Krug (besides size and physicality) terrible defenseman but his offense makes him invaluable.

I understand what you’re saying, but if anything it should be straight up. Cehlarik at worst is trade bait for another deal. But judging by point production I just think krug is better because of how drastic the point difference is. In the past three years, Krug has scored 154 points and klefbom scored 71. I really can’t see Klefbom becoming a top pair D-Man and we have enough good d-men to make up for Krug’s small lack of prowess behind his own blue line. It’s not like he is horrible at defending. Just my own take on this.

I agree with you about what Krug brings to the game. He’s a big reason our PP was top 10 (being modest b/c I forget where they were, coulda be top 5 I forget) in the league. But Mcavoy is that generational player who could easily replace krugs production. And there’s still grizz who is essentially krugs younger brother. But that’s just me, Love krugs element he brings but I just hate the woes he has on the backend

Who? Chara? He’s gonna be turning 41, guys still a beast but he isn’t what he once was. Carlo is improving but we need to improve the top 4 on the LHD and defensively Klefbom does that, on top of that when krugs expired are you gonna be willing to dish out 6+ for him? Because based off his production he’s going to ask for that.

If this Moore kid is as good as people are saying he is than he is a solid guy behind the blue line. But right now krug is better than most of our defensemen and I just can’t see this happening.

Ranking our dmen based on defensive ability; 1. Chara 2. Mcavoy 3/4. Carlo/mcquaid 5/6/7/8.Miller/Krug/grizz/Moore only put Moore low because I don’t really know how good he is. Again I’ll say I understand what Krug brings to the game but I’ve been on board with moving Krug for the past year and a half. It’s just my opinion and I completely understand what you’re saying

Just saying, I understand it completely. If we’re gonna move Krug, maybe waiting a year can increase his value. I think it works because if he’s still elite or better in offensive than his value will increase or stay the same. Also, he could get better at defense, which could lead to his value shooting up (or us considering keeping him). But, I totally understand the idea.
