  1. Granlund, Mikael
  2. Spurgeon, Jared
  3. Staal, Eric
Additional Details:
This trade had a lot of opposing opinions when I first posted it, I look at it this way:
Draisaitl >> Granlund
Larsson < Spurgeon

And to make up for this, Staal is a sweetener to replace Draisatl's spot at center

idk about the Edmonton trade, its a lot of big pieces. I like the Carolina trade. you loose ninos money and you get faulk who can play a bit of sheltered minutes in minn.

It is some really big pieces but both sides gain a lot. The Wild desperately need a young stud 1C since almost everyone in our division has one. Jets have Scheifele, Aves have Mac, Preds have RyJo, Blues just got ROR, and the Stars have Seguin. Draisaitl and Eriksson Ek would be a great 1-2 punch in the next few years when Ek develops a little more.

Thats not enough to get Drai IMO. Maybe Drai and Sekera or Russel for a cap dump but as of now you get our best d and 2nd best c for little Granlund and little Spurgeon? Remember LD is a 6'3 center and arguably the best player out of the 2013 draft, Need more from MIN

I'd love to add Spurgeon, as we only have one top 4 RHD. But the one thing we wouldn't want to move to get him, is our one top 4 RHD... For that reason giving up Larsson makes no sense, plus he's practically untouchable, seeing as he's our most valuable Dman right now, and because of what we gave up to acquire him (Hall). And while Staal is an absolute beast, no doubt about it, his age and the fact that he's only got a year left on his contract greatly diminish his value. Edmonton really has no need to make this trade, whatsoever, like at all... They wouldn't have signed Drai for 8 years just to trade him a year later. He's a big, fast, skilled, 2 way center who's locked up for the next 7 years (even if 8.5 mill is a bit expensive). His value is through the roof for those reasons, and he's won't get traded for players that only have 2 years left before they're UFAs. Term is everything
