ill give ya backes contract was terrible, cause it was but no one uttered a single word at krejci got his contract. he deserved it. honestly I like namestikov but I like trouba a whole lot better. maybe if Winnipeg feels they cant resign wheeler next offseason the move on it but I dont think that's the case.
On the surface it looks a lot for a 30+ year old guy, even when he was a 60 pt player. But centers are being overpaid left and right, so I guess that's what it took to keep him. Maybe he bounces back next year.

bc shat isn't elite he's like the dry hump of John Carlson .......and rangers fans last season acted he was the missing piece .....just funny.
I was happy to pick him up, simply because he was needed if the PP was going to do anything. Again, the offensive side of his game is elite, he's top 10 ppg over the last 5 seasons, but his play in the d zone leaves something to be desired. Regardless, he and Mika made the PP respectable for the Rangers again, so I would argue he was worth the money. Where else would they have gotten a PPQB for just money?
That being said, he wasn't going to fill holes that the organization failed to address over the previous two seasons. I could see last year's result coming for several years now (ever since the loss to Tampa in the playoffs in 14/15, the writing was on the wall), so the missing piece he definitely was not. Any Ranger fan that didn't see that pays too much attention to Sam Rosen.
