Why trade Scandella when he played a load of minutes last year?
The two other trades are heavily in favour of Buffalo.
With the health problems and salary Okposo carries his value would be very low. Koivu alone is worth much more.
The wild have very few right shot forwards, I highly doubt they're going to trade their only right handed offensive threat.

Sam should not play in the third tier, it needs to maximize more time to be productive, not trade Scandella, stop plz.

Scandella is not good and only played a ton of minutes due to injury and lack of depth:

I don't trust statistics, it's often very misleading. For example, I've seen statistics recently where Beaulieu was one of our best defenders last season, and you believe it if you look visually?

Scandella was put in a position he's not suited for, playing against the other teams top lines. -15 on the worst team, playing against the opponent's best isn't so bad.
If he's playing as a 3 or 4 instead of 1 or 2 the team isn't in such rough shape.

They aren't misleading, it depends what you are looking at. For example, the ones I showed you are the main 5 v 5 stats. Scandella's numbers were boosted by the powerplay. With Dahlin coming in, Scandella's PP time will evaporate. So the numbers presented are going to be about what youre looking at with Scandella next year. Scandella was supposed to be a offensive dman. With McCabe Guhle and Pilut, the Sabres have no use for Scandella, especially at his cap hit. Botterill traded for Scandella's playoff experience, well now they have brought in Sobotka, Sheary, and Berglund. So what does Scandella provide now that he cant score, he's without top line PP time, and plenty of experience on the team?

That's a horrible excuse, He was brought in to be paired with Risto as a number #1 LHD, was bad, but we should keep him because he might be better against worse players... McCabe is a proven 2nd pair, is younger, is a good defensive dman, plays his role well, and hasn't even hit his prime yet. Scandella is in the middle of his prime, is a failed offensive dman, and cant play the role Buffalo wanted of him. I'm taking McCabe over Scandella every time.

I'm not saying anything about McCabe at all. He's a steady player. Teams need depth as injuries happen. Trading away players that play a lot and coaches use as their top players without getting much in return will keep a team in the basement. The good teams have 10 defenseman that can play at the NHL level. The entire team failed, why blame it on Scandella?

Im saying if Dahlin is on the left and with Guhle moving up, Scandella is expendable. I don't think Dahlin is starting on the left so its all moot.

Having an 18 year old play against other teams' best players, while playing on a bad team could be really bad for development. Keeping a young player sheltered until he proves he can swim is usually how coaches work.
Keeping Guhle in the minors to start the season won't hurt him, will actually probably help his development, as being a dominant player will help his confidence, then you keep the depth in the system. That second round pick isn't guaranteed to be a productive NHL player, and of it does become an NHL player that's likely 4 years away.
