I’m sorry but this is not a good trade for montreal. we don’t need a RD and the two players you add in this trade don’t really have an interesting value.
So it’s basically a 6th round player and a 3rd pair right defense plus a 2nd round pick vs an elite goal scorer who can scores 30+ goals each year without a good center? In my opinion this is not fair. If you want patches you would have to add young and good prospects plus draft picks (probably 1st round) but i don’t think chicago is ready to let go pieces like that.

That's probably true, but not from CHI. That 1st rounder alone would be a deal breaker to me. I don't think they're a good fit considering where CHI finished last year. I'd have no problems giving away a late 1st like what's happened in the past, but a top 10??? pass all day long.

I agree, Chicago may not be the right fit trade-wise. The only thing that may make sense is something around Anisimov ++ for Patches since it clears cap space for Chicago to resign him and fills a need for Montreal. We don't need middling defensemen like Rutta though, we have nothing BUT middling defensemen at the moment + 1 injured Weber.
