RIP Primeau
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Goldninja0</b></div><div>1. Why is that bad for his development when he gets a chance in the NHL?
2. The team doesn't suck, they just have too many influential injuries</div></div>
Listen, it's not necessarely bad, but it's risky. When you try to develop a young prospect with a nice potential like primeau, you want him to stay confident. If you bring him up too soon with a team searching itself, it may put him in a risky situation. The defence has a lot of difficulties lately, this is partly why price has so bad stats in the last games. If you put Primeau in the net and he plays a bad game it may affect his confidence, slowing his progression. Personaly, I think Primeau can take it but it's a lot of pressure for a 20 years old with only 12 professionnal games in his career (AHL).

I would put Price over Johnson and it would be tight with Kopitar even if i would prefer price. Price has done way more than johnson over the years even if he had a bad year tho.

Trade with MTL
Honestly hayes is a good player but he is not worth a 1st round pick. This pick could be jack hughes or kakko! Hayes is 26 years old and has never reach 50 points. Even with staal it is not worth this pick. Sorry but montreal is rebuilding. They are not interested in a 31 years old defensman and a center with no potential in exchange of a pick that could be a future franchise player. And schlemko is more likely to give you a 6th round pick, at most a 5th.

A lot to digest
I’m sorry but this is not a good trade for montreal. we don’t need a RD and the two players you add in this trade don’t really have an interesting value.
So it’s basically a 6th round player and a 3rd pair right defense plus a 2nd round pick vs an elite goal scorer who can scores 30+ goals each year without a good center? In my opinion this is not fair. If you want patches you would have to add young and good prospects plus draft picks (probably 1st round) but i don’t think chicago is ready to let go pieces like that.

Anisimov is 30 yearls old and he isn’t that good. His value is way too low to get patches even if you add a 2nd round pick.

Hawks need a top 6 winger
A 2nd round in 3 years, a 4th round pick in 2 years, a 5th prospect (even if he is a little better than that) and anisimov is not enough. Anisimov is 30 years old and even if montreal have a poor center line, anisimov does not improve it much considering danault can do a better job and he is younger.

Hinostroza is good, but he has only one good year in the nhl vs pacioretty who has many 30+ goals seasons. You will have to add more to get him in my opinion!

Here's one Montreal fans.
Even if pacioretty scores more goal, he never had as many points as panarin. Panarin is younger and better so panarin is worth way more than patches. You could add a young prospects or picks to make this deal more even.

I don’t think dallas would do this. They won’t give a 2nd round pick and a great prospect to burry spezza’s contract considering there is only one year left to his contract!

Just not sure about the Chicago trade, they won't make the playoffs again next year (imo) and Lindgren value isn't equal to a top 10 pick.</div></div>
I agree, maybe chicago’s pick could be top 10 protected?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ricochetii</b></div><div>The ideal return for Pacioretty is no longer a center. Straight up for a younger defensive partner for Weber should be the target.
We aren't competing this year.
Likely aren't competing next year.
If none of our dozen or so center prospects is ready to make the leap at that point, our scouting has failed as badly as our GM, and we won't be competing for several more years.
A partner for Weber is something we should be able to solve now, so that we have a solid defensive core behind our bevy of younger forwards.
Trade Pacioretty for an up and coming LHD, and take on a cap hit to facilitate the transaction, adding a couple of picks in the process.</div></div>
I agree with you that would be a great idea to trade patches for a ld prospect. I don't know if I would fix this problem this year because I think we should tank, but a LD is one of the biggest problem we have. Maybe it could be fix with the few 1 st round picks in 2019.

not looking good
Montreal would not accept this deal, even if theyhave a poor centerman line, anisimov is not a first line center. Danault can easily do a better job than anisimov. Also lekhonen is way younger so he is more valuable and with a 2nd round pick this trade is bad for montreal.

Why not? have you heard of the teams he would like to go? and do you think the trade is even if you consider that patches signs an extension?
