Description
My rules: trade cap space for people with fewer than 2 years term (sorry EDM-Lucic, MIN-Parise, MTL-Alzner etc.). Acquire picks and young assets

Then, clear out some of the roster, either by trades (Nelson, Pelech, Leddy, Cizikas, Bailey) or by burying (Ladd, Clutterbuck)

Funny thing is I don't think this team is half bad. Don't think it's a true cup contender, but sets up nicely for Belmont.

Trading players (both ways) that have NMC/NTC seems pretty impractical. Those LTIR don't really affect those teams cap, so they aren't giving up a lot for a minor inconvenience .

Detroit? Pretty cap locked, preventing them from making moves. Don't think they're in full rebuild mode.

Vegas? Possibly gearing up for Karlsson?


** Plus, NMC/NTC can be worked around if the parties are willing to. The buyouts can be easily moved despite NMC. Boychuk is going home to EDM, where he used to sleep in Oiler PJs. Callhan's already been moved. I know there are others, just showing examples.

The Flyers will not do your proposed deal. They will however accept your offer to take Andy Macdonald with a 3rd rd. pick under the condition that the Islanders also sign Mark Streit to a 5 year $25million contract.

The Islanders are getting the band circa 2008 back together! Seems about right.

Lehtera is done in Philly, no? Keep in mind it's 2021 2nd which is equivalent to 2019 4th.

The flyers have the cap space to just bury Lehtera. It's not a pressing need for Philly to do this. The Flyers could even make one of these bailout trades themselves.

Reverted. Thought they needed to get Provorov and Konecny done this summer but they have 1 year left.
