Probably should keep Jarnkrok. Will need him to help manage the Cap.

So the two top prospects plus a first for a guy on an expiring contract?

Why don't you see if you can trade Saad for him?

agreed, the other one seemed pretty cheap/low ball. unless there actually is merit to "its a rental cause no guarantee he will resign". i sense a lot of conditional picks in whatever deal gets done.

i dont really see much of an argument to the whole "im not gunna give as much cause he only has one year left on his deal" you can negotiate with the aquired player, his opinions might change. it doesnt change his value too too much. its not like some teams gunna go to OTT and be like " here is 2 seconds for karlsson... oh i dont plan on resigning him"

if that was true, then every team would say just to drive the price down.

Even as a rental he would cost more than what New York got for Rick Nash, a first round pick and a young player. BUT, Panarin is far superior to Nash so he would cost more. If he's coming in with an extension then the price will be higher. Is that the best you Preds fans got? Let me know if you ever win a cup.

If there was an extension in place I'd be willing to bump to a first. Two middle to top 6 roster players (who combined for 41 goals) with low salary and term plus a first for Panarin is a pretty good offer. Two top prospects and a first is an overpay IMO.

I think you’d need more.... Smith is kinda a cap dump and more of a bottom 6 player just because he’s more physical and not so much skill.

Zero interest in Panarin at that price

That's fair, but a guy like Panarin has high value. He's a great goal scorer and has 233 points in 243 career games, pretty damn good. You also gotta remember your first round pick is pretty late, plus you traded a first rounder for Ryan Hartman about 6 months ago...

I agree that Panarin has a high value. Just that Nashville shouldn't be willing to give up the assets that it might take to get him. I also was not a fan of the Hartman trade, not because I don't like Hartman, but because of what it cost.

Understandable, I think the Hawks are in the same situation when thinking about a deal for Panarin. I was shocked when they got a first for Hartman.

I was fine with the first. It was the combination of it with Edjsell. Should have been just the first, or just Edjsell and a third, in my opinion.
