I'm pretty positive Panarin would not want to go to a team who is rebuilding, in my opinion. Trade does make sense

Without going into the value, the Rangers would be shooting themselves in the foot by trading for Panarin.

"IF" they traded for him, it would be after he would agree to sign in NY. In that case, why not wait a year and sign him then? This deal would take several important pieces off of the board for a rebuilding team, in return for 5-15 more goals? Trading for Panarin just doesn't make sense for a rebuilding team.
